The Desperation War[]
Russia's Desperation War began on the 3rd of September, 2018 during Power VI. Sobieski, the leader of Russia(Aka Zhukov in game) was desperate to find away to divert his humiliation from the crushing defeat against China, and such developed a plan to do so: He would invade Germany and force them to fight his war for him. However, this attempt ultimately resulted in what would become a long war that would have no end as the German Kaiser, Scoornen, and one of his cabinet members, Himmler, both refused Russia's demands. Scoornen, while acknowledging that the German army could not defeat the Russian army, said that he and his people would fight to the last man against Russia regardless.
Scoornen, shortly after the war began, used the German crisis server to issue what was basically Totale Krieg, diverting all resources in Germany to the war effort to hold off, or stop, the Russian advance for as long as possible. The start of the war began as a stalemate, and continued as such with a few victories for Russia. However, they only managed to occupy 12.9% of German land by the 6th of September, 3 days after the war began, showing the determination of the less trained, equipped, and outnumbered German army under Scoornen. On September 4th and 5th, some battles resulted in the Germans inflicting more casualties than they sustained, however they were still stalemates rather than victories. In the negotiations that ensued during the war, Sobieski continued to prove immature and foolish. However, more notably was Sobieski's continued efforts too force Scoornen to surrender, each time resulting in rejection.
Following the alt wars that began on the 5th of September, Russian victories ended as its forces were deployed to Turkey, Pakistan, Sweden, France, and 11 thousand even went to fight the Chinese, the Chinese front would be evacuated after a single battle.The German army, while no longer outnumbered by 300 thousand, was still less equipped and trained than the Russians, but was able to defend better than before.
The war ended on September 12th, 2018 after Sobieski and Scoornen agreed to a white peace. However, after Russia sent 300k men against France, Scoornen redeployed in an attempt to relieve pressure. But, he failed in cancelling the trade deal, and peace occurred. All Sobieski gained was a doomed corp.
